Who Am I Tag

Okay, let me just get this out of the way.

“Who am I? I’m JEAN VALJEAN!”

Whew. Okay, that’s over. At least there wasn’t a gif. Apologies if you have no idea what’s going on. That was meant to be sung, btw. And props to you if you know which lyric comes next.

Thanks to the Orangutan Librarian for tagging me! You have no way of knowing this, but my husband is basically obsessed with personality types, and he’s been begging me to re-take the Myers Briggs for the umpteenth time, because he thinks he’s FINALLY found the type that suits me. (I always end up smack-dab in the middle of 3 out of the 4 categories, lol.)

Hope you enjoy getting to know me!

What is the Meaning of my Name?

Katie is short for Kathryn, which has roots in Latin and means pure. Interpret that however you want. You probably won’t be far off. Unless you think I’m pure of heart. 😛

What is my Myers-Briggs Personality Type? (Link)

esfj-personality-type-header

This time around I got ESFJ, the “Consul Personality”, but before you get too excited, take a look at my percentages. You can see that it’s pretty close on a couple, and they go back and forth every time I take it.

Untitled

People who share the Consul personality type are, for lack of a better word, popular – which makes sense, given that it is also a very common personality type, making up twelve percent of the population. In high school, Consuls are the cheerleaders and the quarterbacks, setting the tone, taking the spotlight and leading their teams forward to victory and fame. Later in life, Consuls continue to enjoy supporting their friends and loved ones, organizing social gatherings and doing their best to make sure everyone is happy.

Really and truly, this does NOT sound like me. My husband thinks I’m an ISFJ, the “Defender Personality”.

The Defender personality type is quite unique, as many of their qualities defy the definition of their individual traits. Though sensitive, Defenders have excellent analytical abilities; though reserved, they have well-developed people skills and robust social relationships; and though they are generally a conservative type, Defenders are often receptive to change and new ideas. As with so many things, people with the Defender personality type are more than the sum of their parts, and it is the way they use these strengths that defines who they are.

Sounds a little more like me, but still not really. Usually I get INFJ, the “Advocate Personality”.

The Advocate personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As members of the Diplomat Role group, Advocates have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is that they are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact.

*shrugs* I’m inclined to think it’s all hokum anyway.

What is my Zodiac Sign?

I’m a libra! It means I can’t make decisions about anything. And probably other things.

Although, technically the sun was in Virgo when I was born… Basically we’re still using ancient dates, although it shifts a little bit every year. So REALLY the dates we use nowadays are wrong. If you want to know more about that, ask an astronomer. I think it’s interesting, but I don’t really care since obviously every person born in the month of September aren’t all going to have the same personality.

What’s my Hogwarts House?

(I’m not giving you a link. Go to Pottermore and get sorted already!)

ravenclaw1

Proud Ravenclaw, right here! It means I prize learning and cleverness. And, well, books. Plus, eagles are the coolest animals. And I like blue. So wins all-around!

What Are my Learning Styles? (Link)

I scored:

  • Visual 3
  • Aural 3
  • Read/Write 3
  • Kinestehtic 8

This is about right. I learn best when presented with visual, aural, and a reading element. That’s why I like diy blogs so much. The good ones give step-by-step instructions WITH pictures, and sometimes video. Or, obviously, when getting to do it myself.

Am I Right or Left Brain Dominant? (Link)

I was actually really looking forward to taking this one, because I’ve never done one before, and I was curious to see if I would score how I thought I would. However, I may have screwed it up when I couldn’t understand the instructions… Still, I figured I was probably mostly left-brained!

What is my Blood Type?

I honestly have no idea. They told me last time I was pregnant, but I forgot.

What Career am I Meant to Have? (Link)

Yeah, because PlayBuzz is a good predictor of your ideal career. *rolls eyes*

I got writer! Yay! I wish.

You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.

In all reality, I am not probably creative enough to be a full-time writer. But I’ve got the no-procrastination goal-setting type of working personality that would otherwise be well suited to the job! Maybe someday. When I, you know, actually FINISH a WIP…

What Divergent Faction do I Belong In? (Link)

Candor_logo

Ahahahahaahahahahaha, I got Candor! That’s not totally wrong! Sorry, just still sitting over here laughing. Last time I got Erudite. I think this quiz was bizarre, most of the things I didn’t want to pick any of them, but Candor’s definitely not wrong. *giggles some more*

I just remember the part where they say something mean and jerky, and defend themselves with “Well, it’s TRUE!” That is so me, lol.

What Does my Birth Order Say About Me? (Link)

Full disclosure, I’m technically the middle-child, but since my older sister grew up in another state I was more raised older kid. So I do a little bit of both. I am DEFINITELY obsessed with fairness, especially since my mom clearly continues to favor my younger brother. And I get grumpy when she does. But I also have the natural ambition,  responsibility, and achiever-ness associated with first-borns. So, again, what a shocker, I’m a mix.

What can I say, I’m basically always a mix. And I don’t really believe in personality tests, so there’s that. But this was fun. I always like comparing what I get and seeing how I feel like it represents me. Where is it true, where is it not.

I tag anyone interested in personality types.

  1. I love this tag and enjoyed reading your answers. We have some similarities, and interesting that most people get “writer” as a career. 😉💙

  2. I got the Jean Valjean reference as well, lol.

And these are fun tags to do, just because we do get to know more about each other outside of our bookish discussions. I also find it fun how some of our results for these tests can change either over time or based on the mood we’re in when we take them.

      1. I mean, I can also see how I myself have changed over the years. There have been a couple tests that have stayed the same, like I’m still almost exactly even on left vs right brained. But yeah, even my Hogwarts house has changed from what it was a decade ago.

          1. I always got the result of Gryffindor, but after they rebooted Pottermore you could keep your house or test again. I decided to resort, feeling that I would still be Gryffindor, but it came up Ravenclaw. I’m happy either way. On the hybrid house quizzes I tend to come out as a Gryffinclaw anyway.

  3. I hear Libra’s tend to be xSFJ-oriented but either way both are awesome because that’s my sisters type and xxFJ’s are the best!
You should try cognitive functions which tests your mbti type because it tells you what functions you lead with. Bear in mind, when you do it (simpleminds is a good one) your type can change.
