I’m Back!

Hello friends! I’ve missed you all!

Well, Baby #2 is here. This is William. He is tiny, but so SO strong. I don’t want to brag, but he’s been rolling over since he was about 2 weeks old, so, yeah. Beat that every other baby! And I might be a bit biased, but I think he’s pretty cute. Bonus, unlike my first, he’s a real cuddler, so I’ve been getting a lot of good snuggle time.

I wasn’t expecting to be back so quick, to be honest. I expected to be on hiatus for two months, maybe more. My first child was … difficult. He cried basically every moment he was awake and wouldn’t sleep unless you held him for the first 4-5 weeks of his life, so I spent my entire day in my husband’s armchair just holding him and watching TV. I didn’t open my computer, I stopped reading, I didn’t even play phone games really. It was a mess. So I expected things to be similar with this one. Nope. He’s sleeping like an angel. Most of the time, anyway. So I can put him down in his crib and come work over here for an hour or two. Or I can read while I’m holding him and he naps. It’s been really nice, and I’m excited to be back. (I’m also LOVING the book I’m currently reading, Wolf Hall, so I’m happy I’m getting some reading time!)

While I was gone I hit 500 followers. WHAT?!?!?! You guys are amazing! Thank you thank you thank you! I especially appreciate those of you who take the time to comment and discuss things with me. I’ve said a million times before, the whole reason I started this endeavor was because I wanted to talk to people about books. So thanks for talking to me. Love y’all.

Sad news. Leaky Con is coming to Dallas in August, and I had made definite plans not only to go, but to get the expensive tickets with benefits. We finally got around to purchasing our tickets and … it’s sold out. I’m devastated. I didn’t know conventions sold out. I mean, it’s a convention. They pack people in there like sardines. I can’t even go walk around the exhibit hall in costume? I guess I should have realized that tickets would be a hot commodity, but honestly the Dallas area isn’t that massive, and you can walk up to buy tickets to Comic Con day of. I guess people are flying in from all over the country. I’m super bummed.

In other news, my physical TBR stack, which I had managed to get down to 6ish books, has ballooned to an unreasonable number again. This means I don’t have to deal with the library and *gasp* WAITING for books, but it also means that I’m not going to be reading a lot of new material for a while. Not that I ever review ARCs or anything, but last year I at least made an effort to get to SOME new releases. Probably not in 2018 guys. Sorry if that’s your thing. *shrugs*
