The Playlist Shuffle Tag

Happy Friday everyone!

I was tagged by one of my favorite people, Darque Dreamer Reads, to share the first 15 songs on my playlist after hitting the shuffle button. (Actually, I tagged myself, but she TOLD me to tag myself so it counts!)

Now, this left me in quite the dilemma. WHICH PLAYLIST TO CHOOSE??? I have lots of different playlists with lots of different kinds of music on them. So I chose the most eclectic playlist, the one labeled “Car” which, you guessed it, I mostly listen to in the car. It’s got over 800 songs and a little bit of everything on it, as long as “everything” doesn’t include anything released in the last 5 years. What can I say? I spend my money on books, not music, and I hate the radio. Commercials, ick.

So, without further ado, my “car” playlist!

Here I Am (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels)

I love this musical, and Sherie Renee Scott is hilarious in this song.

How Did I Fall In Love With You (Backstreet Boys)

I was the world’s biggest Backstreet Boys fan in the late 90s. Who’s N*SYNC, am I right?

Ever After (Into the Woods)

Another great musical. The recent movie adaptation was pretty dang good, I have to say, but if you can get your hands on the DVD of the stage production, even better.

Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmations)

YOU GUYS. Listen to this track! I am by no means a jazz expert, but this might be my all-time favorite jazz track. I don’t know what it is, I just think the drummer and the horns kill it.

Hello (Evanescence)

My favorite Evanescence song. Yeah, I know, I’m so cool.

Lovefool (The Cardigans)

This was my JAM in second grade!

Live and Let Die (Wings)

Aw, man, this song is so … BANG! Goes great with pyrotechnics.

Hey! Baby (Bruce Channel)

Channeling my inner band nerd here.

Will I (RENT)

I actually like the movie version of this song better. I like the solos, they make it feel so personal.

Finale (Jekyll and Hyde)

AAAAHHH!!! This is the best musical adaptation of a book OF ALL TIME!!!!! So dark and creepy but AMAZINGLY well written and performed. *swoons*

It’s My Life/Confessions (Glee)

Okay guys, don’t laugh, but I was a huge Glee fan back during the first season. Also, I love Mash-Ups.

Girl With One Eye (Florence + The Machine)

Oooooo, Florence! ❤

Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen)

Stock. I promise, I have a lot more Queen songs than this one. I think my favorite might be Another One Bites the Dust. I don’t know why, that’s a really weird favorite Queen song, I just love it. What’s yours?

Music Box (Mariah Carey)

The soundtrack of my childhood. My mom used to play this CD on repeat in the car before she discovered Celine Dion.

Mama Who Bore Me (Spring Awakening)

Oh good gravy, Leah Michele’s voice gives me goosebumps! This is the reason I started watching Glee, folks.

Okay, just promise not to judge me guys. I swear, my playlist has a lot more classic rock and a lot less 90s music than it looks like here, lol! The number of Broadway tunes is pretty representative, however.

Since I wasn’t officially tagged, I officially tag nobody. Do it if you want to, and have a great weekend!

Seriously, what’s your favorite Queen song? Let me know in the comments! I could talk Queen all day.

  1. I’m a Theater Nerd, so I appreciated all the Broadway showtunes you mentioned in your article. I’m more familiar these days with the latest Broadway songs instead of the current music scene, lol. Like I said, Theater Nerd over here, lol.
