I saw this tag on River-Moose Reads, and it combines two of my favorite things, books and music, so I saved it for a rainy day. It’s not actually raining right now, but that’s not the point. The POINT is that a) you should go check out River-Moose Reads right now and b) I want to do this book/music tag!
A song you must listen to every time it comes on, no matter how old or how many times you’ve listened to it
A book you’ll never get sick of
At one point I was re-reading Pride and Prejudice every year. When ever we “play” the desert island game, if I could only take ONE book it would probably be the collected works of Jane Austen. I could just read about Elizabeth and Darcy until the end of time!
A song that reminds you of the cringiest time of your life
The fact that I loved The Backstreet Boys is a lot less embarrassing than the fact that I was obsessed through MIDDLE SCHOOL…
A book that also reminds you of this time (or just something you wouldn’t like as much if you picked it up for the first time now)
The only thing I was more obsessed with than The Backstreet Boys was Animorphs. Another thing that was a lot less embarrassing in 4th grade than 8th…
A recent song you have on repeat right now
I don’t really do recent, but this is recent-ish.
A recent favorite book
The most recent addition to my favorites shelf is The Goblin Emperor. I’m sure you all are tired of hearing about it, but I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!! If you like fantasy you HAVE to read it!
This song is me
I’m not really sure what that means, but this is my favorite song.
This book is me in book form
Rainbow Rowell’s books are always magical to me, but Fangirl is especially so because I feel such a connection to Cath. Cath is like fiction ME, except with more social anxiety. And more fanfiction writing…
Weird but I like it
A weird book that stuck out to you for whatever reason
I’m not sure how I ended up with a copy of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I guess I bought it, but I don’t remember doing so! But it’s certainly a quirky and lesser-known book. I highly recommend if you like historical fiction and books about books!
Best pump-up song (for workouts or just life)
A book that inspired you
I am so inspired by The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People! A lot of people didn’t get anything out of the book, which I admit I haven’t read. But if you ever get a chance to attend a 7 Habits training, I encourage you to go. It could change your life!
Favorite chill, relaxing song
A book you’d curl up with and read on a rainy day
I want to read any book on a rainy day! But in particular I think Landline would be a great rainy day read. Bonus, it’s short and quick enough that I can easily read it in a day.
Guilty Pleasure Song – One that’s catchy and addicting but not a whole lot of substance
Guilty Pleasure/Trashy/Fast/Light Read
I finished Geekerella recently, and it’s definitely all pleasure and cuteness and no substance. Which was perfectly okay with me! I feel like you need a book like that from time to time.
