The Literary Dinner Party Tag

If you could invite one book character to dinner, who would it be?

SCREW THAT! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PICK JUST ONE?!?!?!?!

Luckily for me (and all of my dinner plates…) I saw this awesome tag on Kristin Kraves Books that lets me pick more than one person. Yay! It was created by NEHOMAS2 over on BookTube, so go on over and show those ladies some love.

So, who will be at my dinner party? I can’t wait to find out!

A Character Who Cooks or Likes to Cook

Agnieszka from Uprooted

I feel like between her actual cooking skills and her much improved magic, Agnieszka could make us something very delicious. And maybe as long as she’s here make me some nicer clothes. And then perhaps we could be gal pals.

A Character With Money to Fund the Party

Maia from The Goblin Emperor

As the Emperor, surely Maia can afford to fund my dinner party. And I think he would enjoy having the chance to mingle with some people who won’t have all of these formal expectations of him, or who are trying to gain political leverage with him. Maybe he can find some *gasp* friends?

A Character Who Might Cause a Scene

Lady Trent from A Natural History of Dragons

The times they have a-changed, but Lady Trent is still bound to say something completly outrageous and offend someone’s sensibilities! (Let’s be honest, it will probably be Maia’s…) But I will still love her anyway. Then perhaps I can beg her to get some of her works on dragon taxonomy released in my country, because I am DYING to read them!!!

A Character Who is Funny

Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice

elizabeth-bennet-1

Because if Elizabeth does NOT come to my house for a literary dinner, then something is wrong. Very, very wrong. She is sure to make me laugh, and if we don’t part best friends in the history of the world then I’ll probably just never leave my house and attempt to make friend again.

A Character Who is Super Social/Popular

Elle from Geekerella

Elle is super popular in her fandom online, which as far as I’m concerned is the only kind of popularity that matters! While Starfield isn’t an actual TV series, I will be happy to geek out with her about something else. She seems like the kind of gal I could really get along with once she gets a bit older.

A Villain

Joshua Templeman from The Hating Game

25883848

I’m not particularly interested in having a villain at my dinner party, but at least we could count on Joshusa to just ignore all of us and not try to kill anyone.

A Couple (doesn’t have to be romantic!)

Jane and G from My Lady Jane

These two were just so sweet together, and I would love to catch up with them and see how they are doing! Except, obviously both are dead now, what with it being 500 years later and all… So…

A Hero or Heroine

Hermione from Harry Potter

Don’t try to convince me Hermione isn’t a heroine! If something goes wrong, you KNOW she is going to save the day. Besides which, I must have her at my dinner party!

An Under-Appreciated Character

Tyler Crowley from Twilight

TylerCrowley

I just feel like nobody really appreciates all his hard work for trying to end that series by hitting Bella with his car! I don’t know about anyone else, but I would personally like to shake his hand and thank him on behalf of people the world over, and to console him on his absolute failure. Plus, he’s probably a lot less obnoxious now that he’s grown up. He’s probably just a regular dude with kids and a job.

A Character of Your Own Choosing

Cath from Fangirl

I just feel like Cath and I would completely click. I don’t know, maybe we’re so much alike that we would hate each other. But I feel like someone would finally get me and I could finally have that friend in my life.

Since I wasn’t tagged I’m not tagging anyone, but I would love to see everyone’s answers!

What book character would YOU invite to dinner? Let me know in the comments!
