Calendar Girls January Theme

I don’t know about anyone else, but we’re getting in the full Christmas spirit at my house! My oldest son is especially excited about Christmas, and every day he puts a new ornament on his advent calendar and then very enthusiastically counts how many days are left.

But here online it’s time to start thinking about what we’re going to pick for the January post on Calendar Girls. Good gracious, it’s nearly 2019 already! We had a lot of feedback this month, so thanks to everyone who voted. Now, without any further ado, our theme for January 2019 is…

Happy New Year
Most Anticipated 2019 Release

Guys! I’m pretty excited for this one! I’m usually not one who watches new releases closely, but there are a few books coming out next year that I am SO STINKING EXCITED ABOUT! I just read a GREAT review for one of my most anticipated releases, so I’m just barely containing myself about it here. Would it be okay to start talking about it now? No, no, wait Katie, or you won’t have anything to talk about next month!

Also, everyone, DON’T FORGET! We’re re-vamping the #CGBChat this month. Starting next week on Monday, December 17, we will be posting one question per day on Twitter. You’ve got the whole day (or longer) to respond. Keep an eye on mine and Darque Dreamer’s feed, or follow the hashtag #CGBChat.

Make sure to vote for the February theme!

Voting is open until January 13.

Calendar Girls is a monthly blog event created by Melanie at MNBernard Books, and Flavia at Flavia the Bibliophile, and is now be hosted by me (!), Katie and Adrienne at Darque Dreamer Reads. It is designed to ignite bookish discussions among readers, and was inspired by the 1961 Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl.

Just like the song, each month has a different theme. Each blogger picks their favorite book from the theme, and on the first Monday of the month reveals their pick in a Calendar Girls post. Make sure to post back to the hostess’s post, and I will make a master list for the month. The master lists allow everyone to see the other Calendar Girls’ picks and to pop on over to their blogs. Thus, we all get to chat about books and even make some new friends!
