Calendar Girls March Theme

HO-LY-COW. How is it still February???? This is the slowest month in this history of the WORLD!!!!!

Buuuut, that’s probably just me!

Seriously though, is anyone else ready for March? Speaking of March… WE HAVE A THEME! (See what I did there? *nudge, nudge*) So without any ado whatsoever, our theme for Calendar Girls March will be…

Women’s History Month
Favorite Book with a Strong Female Lead

Woo! Let all the Calendar Girls rejoice! I mean, who doesn’t love a strong female lead??? *timidly raises hand* WHAT? Hem. *coughs loudly*

Geez, I must be grumpy. I’ll stop now.

Seriously though, I already know what I’m going to pick, and I’m so excited because I can’t believe I’ve been participating in Calendar Girls for as long as I have been WITHOUT MENTIONING my all-time favorite book! Are you curious yet? If you want to find out you’ll have to be there on March 4th! Nanny-nanny-boo-boo.

Seriously though, if my really weird mood isn’t completely scaring you off, if you’ve ever thought you might like to participate in Calendar Girls before, we would love to have you! There’s always room for more! And this is just you’re friendly reminder that you don’t have to be a girl to participate, that’s just the name of the song. 🙂

Make sure to vote for the April Theme! I think we’ve come up with some really fun options, so make your voice heard!

Voting is open through March 10th.

Calendar Girls is a monthly blog event created by Melanie at MNBernard Books, and Flavia at Flavia the Bibliophile, and is now be hosted by me (!), Katie, and Adrienne at Darque Dreamer Reads. It is designed to ignite bookish discussions among readers, and was inspired by the 1961 Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl.

Just like the song, each month has a different theme. Each blogger picks their favorite book from the theme, and on the first Monday of the month reveals their pick in a Calendar Girls post. Make sure to post back to the hostess’s post, and I will make a master list for the month. The master lists allow everyone to see the other Calendar Girls’ picks and to pop on over to their blogs. Thus, we all get to chat about books and even make some new friends!

  1. I totally agree with you about February. For some reason I keep thinking that it is the end of the month already but it isn’t. One of those weird, “I have no idea what day it is” kind of months.
HOWEVER I am SUPER excited about March’s theme. SO. MANY. CHOICES!
