Calendar Girls August Theme

I will not think about August. No no no no no no no.

It will be summer vacation FOREVER.

Except, I’m ready for this absolutely horrible class I’m taking with the world’s worst professor to be over… AUGUST IS COMING!!!!! So let’s talk about Calendar Girls, shall we?

I have to say, that as the former three-time winner of Biggest Band Nerd AND a former band director, I’m a little disappointed that “This one time at band camp” didn’t win. I don’t know what it is, but when August comes I suddenly get the weird desire to go outside in the heat for extended periods of time… But let’s not talk about what didn’t win, let’s talk about what did. Our choice for the August theme is…

Book Lover’s Day
Favorite Book You’ve Read This Year

Book Lover’s Day is on August 9th. Did you know that was a holiday? I didn’t know that was a holiday… Sounds like the perfect excuse to reward myself for surviving the worst professor in history, doesn’t it? I’m excited for this theme because I love mid-year favorite posts, and I haven’t seen enough of you posting your mid-year freak out tag! *evil glare* Well. NOW I WILL KNOW.

Don’t forget to join us on Twitter NEXT WEEK for the #CGBchat! Remember, we’re doing the chat over the course of the week, so whether you participate in Calendar Girls or not, feel free to hop in any time and contribute to the conversation. ❤

Also make sure to vote for September’s theme. Vote now so you don’t forget. 🙂

Calendar Girls is a monthly blog event created by Melanie at MNBernard Books, and Flavia at Flavia the Bibliophile, and is now be hosted by me (!), Katie, and Adrienne at Darque Dreamer Reads. It is designed to ignite bookish discussions among readers, and was inspired by the 1961 Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl.

Just like the song, each month has a different theme. Each blogger picks their favorite book from the theme, and on the first Monday of the month reveals their pick in a Calendar Girls post. Make sure to post back to the hostess’s post, and I will make a master list for the month. The master lists allow everyone to see the other Calendar Girls’ picks and to pop on over to their blogs. Thus, we all get to chat about books and even make some new friends!
