Prediction Book Tag

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a nice weekend. I wasn’t paying attention and grabbed a hot pan last night, so that’s awesome. By the time you read this it’ll have been over a week, but whatevs, I thought you should know. Right now it’s 3 AM because I went to bed early and my husband woke me up when he came to bed around midnight and I couldn’t fall back asleep. So yay. Hence the blabbering.

Dani @ Mousai Books tagged me in the Prediction Book Tag well over a month ago, but I was doing a thing so I didn’t get to it. UNTIL TODAY. Since then I’ve been seeing this everywhere, so it’s probably just as well that I waited because now I’m pretty excited to see how this goes!

Also, someone tagged me in something like, two weeks ago, and I can’t find that tag anywhere. So if that was you, SORRY!

The rules for the Prediction Book Tag:

~ Most importantly: have fun!

Prediction for my Next Read

Um, there’s no prediction here. I am a MAJOR planner. Probably because I don’t have fifteen million unread books sitting around my house. The only uncertainty here is order, because I don’t know when the books I ordered from the bookstore will arrive. Plus everything will just have to get put on hold when my Empire of Gold pre-order comes in. Duh. But in some order my next four reads are:

  • We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Berry
  • The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty
  • Within the Sanctuary of Wings by Marie Brennan
  • The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemison

SO SO SO excited about We Ride Upon Sticks, which sounds just quirky and delightful. Hope it arrives at the bookstore soon! I’ve had The Fifth Season on my tbr for about sixth months, and I figured since I’ve read every other massive book on my list this summer I might as well give it a whirl. I didn’t like the last Jemison book I read, so I’m nervous I won’t like this one and they’ll have to revoke my SF/F card…

Prediction for my Next 5-Star Read

It’s got to be Empire of Gold, right?! God I hope I’m not over-hyping this book…

I probably am.

Prediction for my Next 1-Star Read

Um, why would I read it if I thought I was going to give it one star? Let me go scrolling through my tbr and see if there’s anything that might be a risky read, hm…

I see I have Number One Chinese Restaurant on my tbr, which was a really controversial Women’s Prize pick. People either loved it or hated it. This book has been on my tbr for like, three years though, and you all know how much literary fiction I read, so we’ll see if I even ever READ it…

Prediction for my Next Love Interest/Cool Character

Haha, I don’t do the love interest in a book character thing anymore, sorry y’all! However, I plan on reading Zero Sum Game by S.L Huang in the not too distant future, and I hear that Cas is SUPER cool! And by cool, I mean she can use her math to shoot you with her eyes closed. Or something. I’m ready for some good old fashioned action/adventure fun!

Prediction for my Next Book Buy

Ooo, gosh, I don’t know! I’m such a mood reader, I don’t know what I’m going to want to read next! I’m probably going to pre-order The Year of the Witching sometime this week, though, does that count? Goodreads tells me it’s been on my tbr since January and, y’all, IT COMES OUT NEXT MONTH! This is not a drill!!!!!

God, I hope this book isn’t so scary I get nightmares…

Prediction for my Next Book to Give me a Hangover

I don’t really … GET book hangovers? But I’m going ahead and predicting The Fifth Season because it’s long and different, and I think it’s going to really work-out my brain. And a lot of times on a really long book like that my brain might need a day off after I finish it.

I tag:

Have a good week everyone. Thanks for being such a great, supportive community.
