The Versatile Blogger Award

So I was going through my large bookmark folder of book tags, and I noticed that I’ve been tagged for this one not once, but TWICE. Most recently Dani at Mousai Books, but also back in FEBRUARY I was tagged by Jayati at It’s Just a Coffee Addicted Bibliophile. Worse, it appears I *never actually thanked her*

SO. Jayati, THANK YOU FOR NOMINATING ME!!!! I am sorry for not thanking you, usually I’m not such a spaz. (That’s a lie, I’m just a complete mess right now. Blame grad school.)

The rules are pretty simple, thank the person who nominated you (check), nominate fifteen people (holy smokes!) and tell everyone seven things about yourself (yikes).

1. I like books?

Seriously, I hate the “tell us about yourself” prompts. I’m so boring that the only thing I can think of is I like books.

2. I have two boys, aged 4 and 1.

Mom life is hard, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love reading to my oldest (the baby prefers to throw the books) and riding bikes and playing together. My kids are pretty stinking adorable, and I know that I’m impartial, but complete strangers tell me so, so it must be true.

3. I’m a teacher.

I think I mentioned at the beginning of the summer that I’m starting a new school this year. I’m so excited to be in a new place, but so nervous because I’m going to be teaching so many different subjects. I’ll be teaching fourth grade, which here in the states is aged 9-10.

4. I’m studying to be a librarian.

So yeah. Mom + full-time-job + Grad School = no life! How do I still have time for blogging? I don’t even know, y’all.

5. I had to buy a new car last week.

Here’s a great story.

So I was driving in the parking lot to go to Gamestop, not to actually go to Gamestop, but because there’s a tower in Wizards Unite that I needed to battle to get my daily checklist. (Shut up.) So I was turning left, and all the sudden a motorcycle turned toward me. I didn’t want to lose sight of him in my blind spot, so I was watching for him instead of where I was going and hit the world’s tallest curb. Seriously, it was like, six inches high. Everything was fine, I mean, who hasn’t driven over a curb before? But it was such a freaking huge curb that it set off the roll-detector in my SUV, which activated the seat belt. And it turns out, no, you CAN’T just replace the seat belt, you have to replace the entire collision computer. It costs about $2,500. My car’s old enough that it didn’t make sense to invest that much money in it. So we got a new one.

So yeah. Expensive curb check.

6. I’m going to Leaky Con in August!

Speaking of which, I should probably go check and see if I need to register for events…

7. Coffee is gross.

Public service message. Tea is better. But apparently I’m a tea snob, and I do not like tea out of tea bags. Instead I buy expensive loose leaf tea and drink that every morning. I highly recommend David’s Tea, they are THE BEST. Especially Pumpkin Chai. YAS.

Let’s be honest, I’m not going to nominate fifteen people. Nominating ANYONE gives me some amount of anxiety. What if they’ve already been nominated for this a million times? What if they don’t know who I am? We’ll just see here.

I nominate!

  1. Ahh I have no idea how you manage to handle it all, teaching and studying and your kids and ahh, you clearly have some kind of superpowers haha 🙂 and… well I’m with you on the tea thing, I LOVE TEA and hate coffee, though I don’t mind tea in bags too much, I love expensive loose leaf tea better as well haha 🙂
Thank you so, so much for nominating me!! ❤

  2. I 100% agree with you about hating coffee and liking tea more– well, I do like frappucinos sometimes, but normal black coffee?? NO THANK YOU. Also, me too about hating teabags!! I really, really do not like Lipton’s tea but I prefer the loose leaf tea that my parents own (tbh, I have no idea what kind we have). Also, that’s so cool that you’re managing studying to be a librarian + being a mom + blogging!!! That must be stressful, but good luck! You’re clearly doing amazing. ❤

  3. Thank you so much for this tag! We’re a bit behind at the moment, but we’ll definitely be getting to this one eventually! I love how I learn more about the blogger from this tag! I’m more of a tea than coffee girl myself, but with ridiculous amounts of sugar and milk I can be persuaded to join the dark side!
